Pager Network System Solutions

Swissphone Network antennas

In an emergency, every second counts.

Rescue workers must be alerted and mobilized as quickly as possible. This is done quickly and reliably via a dedicated paging radio network. This is the direct line between the control center and the emergency services.

Local, regional and national

Local networks: Our I.SEARCH and I.SITE III solutions are particularly suitable for local solutions. You can send alarms, forward information from external systems such as fire alarms or input contacts, search for personnel, or search for another person if the particular individual you are looking for is unavailable.
Regional and national networks: With our regional and supra-regional solutions, you can alert and notify a large number of emergency personnel within seconds. Our solution is independent, simple and reliable, and consists of DAG/Touch DAG digital alarms, ITC2500 POCSAG base stations and a Paging Network Controller.
Using standard protocols, these alarm networks can easily be connected to the control computers of various manufacturers.
Swissphone has planned and implemented more than 300 alarm networks worldwide

The network options include

The DAG and Touch DAG digital alarms provide a secure and reliable alerting system in alarm networks.

Paging Network Controller

The Paging Network Controller (PNC) is the core of critical communication infrastructure. The possibility to deploy two redundant instances ensures the highest possible availability.

The ITC 2500 paging base station was specially developed for use in digital paging networks. It enables the operation of local as well as nationwide, synchronous and high-performance alarm networks and is therefore the ideal solution for a variety of industries as well as fire brigades and rescue services.

I.SEARCH alarm server includes a local paging system with absence and escalation management as well as a number of input and output interfaces.

The ITC300 is a radio transmitter that can be flexibly used for quick and targeted alarming. ITC300 is an uncomplicated entry-level solution that fulfils your personal requirements.

Swissphone Within seconds

Within seconds

In a crisis, it is crucial that first responders can be alerted within seconds, even throughout large regions, so that they can respond quickly and alleviate the situation. Swissphone’s alerting solutions offer extremely fast transport layers between all base stations in order to speed up the delivery of the message. Also, Swissphone’s Express-Alarm® feature allows you to target required resources individually, without increasing the alarm duration noticeably. This architecture guarantees the fastest alert transmission even in very large networks – without compromising on safety of alert transmission and resiliency of the system.

Disaster proven

Alerting networks must be fail-proof in order to guarantee operation even in times of a crisis or blackout. Swissphone’s networks provide independence from third party systems and various fallback levels. System monitoring detects if and when a system component fails. The designated redundancy or fallback level automatically comes into effect and the malfunction is immediately reported to the system administrator. The backup power supply of all important system elements must be guaranteed as well. This system architecture guarantees self-reliant alerting and communication with your users, even when the public networks and infrastructures are unavailable.

Lowest cost of ownership (TCO)

In times of scarce resources of public and private funds, alerting solutions are chosen based on the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO). Swissphone’s alerting solutions based on the open POCSAG standard provide the lowest TCO. Swissphone’s on-site and wide area network components are backwards compatible. This means you can add new components to old network paging systems easily without having to upgrade the system, thereby protecting and prolonging your initial investment. Also, they provide a mean time between failure of 7.4 years, reducing maintenance and repair costs. Many of Swissphone’s 300+ networks have been operating for more than 25 years without any failure.

Complementing LTE, TETRA and P25

Mission critical applications required on a public safety communication infrastructure that are fault and disaster tolerant need an availability of more than 99’999%. This availability is hard to achieve with one system only. However, it can easily be reached with two or three highly available systems working in parallel with mutual fall-back plans. Other than TETRA/P25 and LTE, paging systems achieve a very high reliability with relatively low investment costs. As a complement to TETRA/P25 and LTE, paging allows to reach the required availability of a public safety communications infrastructure – without the necessity to harden the TETRA/P25 and LTE infrastructure. It may seem counter-intuitive, but it is true: Several networks are more cost effective than a single one.

Fast and reliable alerting in a
separate network

«It was important that we be able to autonomously
alert the individual districts, even if the connection to
the control and monitoring system is disrupted.»
