Swissphone promotes safe and efficient work
Swissphone Telecom AG – the alerting and communication specialist – will be presenting their IMASYS solution and personal emergency call system at Orbit-iEX 2008, which runs from 20 to 23 May. IMASYS incorporates various ‘mobile messaging’ functions such as the transmission of SMS messages via the Internet. The company’s emergency call system serves to improve safety at work and features an SOS emergency call button as well as a GSM and GPS module.
Safety at work is a top priority for companies and organisations. They have to ensure that their employees receive immediate assistance in the event of an accident. This also applies to lone workers who work at remote locations. And, in order to render fast assistance, it must be possible to locate the casualty. Swissphone’s personal emergency call system is a solution that is designed specifically to meet these requirements.
Manual and automatic emergency calls
The emergency call system features a GSM emergency call function and a GPS receiver module. If, after an accident, an employee is still able to act, they can push an SOS button to request immediate assistance. If, however, the casualty is no longer capable of acting as they are unconscious, for example, then the emergency call must be triggered automatically. For this purpose the personal emergency call system features position, movement and acceleration sensors that automatically trigger an emergency call if no movement is detected from the employee for a long time or if a fall is detected.
In addition to the emergency call, the geographical coordinates are also transmitted and displayed on a map in the operations control centre. The dispatcher in the control centre can promptly request suitable support from the responsible rescue unit by e-mail, SMS or pager.
SMS and paging messages via the Internet
IMASYS is a ‘mobile messaging’ solution that allows dispatchers to send SMS or paging messages directly from a PC via the Internet using suitable desktop tools. SMS messages can also be received by the PC. Urgent information can thus be transmitted immediately in the event of an emergency or other critical incident. Applications using IMASYS do not simply reduce communication costs, they also optimise communications.
